biography

Angelika Wallace-Whitfield (b. 1993, Nassau, The Bahamas) is a visual artist and curator, whose art practice is concentrated on murals and other public artworks. Angelika holds a Bachelors of Arts and a Master of Arts in The History and Philosophy of Art, both from The University of Kent where she was awarded the Kate Zaks Memorial Prize in Art History.

She began her career as curator of The Central Bank of The Bahamas and curatorial manager at The Current: Bahamar Gallery and Art Center. However in 2019 Angelika departed her institutional roles to focus on her creating murals, in an effort to make art more accessible. Since then, she has painted 200+ murals locally and internationally, in restaurants, hotels, private residences, retail businesses and schools.
